Functional overview:
Capability development is a fundamental part of Continuous Excellence journey in Asahi. Technical and methodological competences development strategy is key to be prepared to maintain and further develop our competitiveness.
In the Asahi Way methodology, the Enabled Team pillar encompasses capability development as the foundation for all pillars and practices.
Collaborates with global and regional Learning and Development Centres of Excellence to ensure comprehensive functional capability building across both Manufacturing and Supply Chain sectors.
Position Overview & Purpose:
The Regional Lead for the Enabled Teams Pillar is responsible for defining the strategy, framework, and standards for workforce capability development across all manufacturing sites within the region. This role bridges the gap between technical manufacturing requirements and human resource development, ensuring that our plants are powered by autonomous, highly skilled, and empowered teams.
A core element of the role is driving initiatives that enhance the structure, capability, and ways of working across the ISC organization. By aligning capability building with strategic workforce and operating model principles, the role ensures the function is set up to effectively achieve business objectives and drive sustained operational performance.
A key goal of this role is to accelerate the transition from a traditional workforce to high-performing, self-directed teams that sustain Asahi Way standards.
What you will deliver (Key Deliverables & Responsibilities):
Streategy & Framework Design:
- Develop and deploy the long-term roadmap for the Enabled Teams (ET) Pillar across the region, aligning with the Asahi Way strategy
- Design standardized competency frameworks and skills matrices that applies across all factories in the region.
- Design the team maturity framework that guides plants through the maturation phases of team autonomy (from dependent to interdependent teams).
- Develop regional CAP process and tools and enables implementation across all markets
- Design in collaboration with Regional HRBP the Operating Model (incl organization design ) when assessing current ways of working and recommending improvements
Governance & Standards:
- Establish the regional audit and assessment criteria for the ET Pillar. Conduct periodic health checks to validate site maturity and compliance with regional/ global standards.
- Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assesses & monitor the impact of learning initiatives on business performance
- Collaborate with Regional HR to align compensation, progression pathways, and reward systems with AW skill acquisition.
Capability Building & Methodlogy:
- Partners with Pillar leads, Operational Performance leads and ISC Capability Managers to drive the implementation of the Asahi Way and strengthen the Enabled Team pillar to define prioritized learning themes aligned with strategic and operational requirements.
- Design "Train-the-Trainer" certification programs to build teaching capabilities within local site leadership and subject matter experts.
- Lead the implementation of digital learning technologies—including LMS, AR/VR, and digital work instructions—to enhance and modernize training on the shop floor.
- Oversees the design of ISC learning pathways and contributes to the design of functional specific learning programs in markets.
Leadership & Culture Change:
- Act as a coach and consultant to Plant Managers and Site Pillar Leads, helping them navigate the cultural shifts required to support autonomous teams.
- Facilitate cross-site collaboration and coordinates sharing of best practices, ensuring successful initiatives in one plant are replicated across the region.
- Analyze macro-level skill gaps across the region to identify systemic risks and launch targeted regional upskilling initiatives.
Other:
- Collaborates closely with the Regional Learning & Development CoE to ensure ISC learning aligns with AEI’s broader L&D strategy.
- Supplier management – identification, onboarding, and management of best in class learning suppliers engaged with the design and delivery of learning curricula.
- Contributes to ISC learning budget planning and alignment with L&D and Finance at regional and market level.
Experience & Qualification Requirements:
- University degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Organizational Development, or related field
- 7+ years in manufacturing operations, with significant experience in TPM, Lean, or Six Sigma environments.
- Deep understanding of TPM pillars (specifically Education & Training / Autonomous Maintenance) and adult learning principles.
- Proven experience in a multi-site or regional role, capable of influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Fluency in English
