Join Our Dynamic Team as a Senior GL Accountant with Romanian in Prague!

We are looking for a Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our Finance team.

The Senior GL Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting across the AEI region. This role supports core RTR, P2P, and OTC processes, contributes to a smooth SAP S/4HANA implementation, and partners cross-functionally to drive end-to-end process adoption. Through strong accounting expertise, active involvement in month-end close and a focus on operational excellence, the Senior GL Accountant helps strengthen financial controls and supports the company’s overall business objectives.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a key finance representative in the SAP S/4HANA project, collaborating closely with ABS market managers and project teams to ensure a streamlined and effective implementation aligned with project plans and deliverables.
• Integrate finance and accounting requirements into the implementation, proactively identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues to support a smooth transition and stable BAU operations.
• Support business users through training, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure readiness and proper adoption of new processes.
• Partner with ABS teams to support the achievement of BAU KPIs during and after the implementation phase.
• Collaborate with automation teams, IT, digital experts, and finance business partners to define requirements, align solutions, and ensure timely project delivery.
• Support project documentation and governance, including change management, stakeholder approvals, and clear communication of updates to all relevant teams and councils.
• Review, update, and enhance finance-related SOPs within the ABS framework to reflect new SAP S/4HANA workflows, controls, and reporting requirements.

What You Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ end-to-end experience in P2P, R2R, or OTC finance processes, including transformation initiatives, governance, and systems. Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments is a strong advantage.
• Language Skills: Proficient in English; knowledge of Romanian is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Systems & Tools: Strong SAP knowledge is mandatory; experience with SAP S/4HANA, Signavio, and documentation or process-mapping tools is advantageous.

Nice to Have:

• Proven experience leading or supporting partial process implementations or harmonization initiatives.
• Background in Finance GBS (Global Business Services) environments is preferred.
• Experience working within regional, matrix organizations with strong stakeholder management skills is advantageous.

ABS encompass a broad range of financial activities designed to support businesses in their day-to-day financial operations, long-term planning, and compliance with regulations. These services are crucial for maintaining financial health, making informed decisions, and achieving the overall financial objectives of the organization. The key outputs of ABS are to provide accounting services including the summarizing and reporting of financial transactions of a business, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
