Type of contract:  Permanent
Job type:  Full time
Requisition ID:  17812

Are you an experienced Treasury professional looking for your next opportunity in an international environment?

Asahi Europe & International (AEI) is looking for a Senior Treasury Analyst to join our Treasury Hub, with the role based in Woking, UK or Prague, Czech Republic.

This is an opportunity to play a key role within a multinational Treasury function, combining strong technical expertise in IFRS 9 hedge accounting and derivatives with FX exposure analysis, treasury systems, controls, settlements and reporting.

Postion Overview &  Purpose:

The Senior Treasury Analyst delivers technical hedge accounting, derivative accounting and core middle and back-office activities across AEI's multinational Treasury function.

The role combines IFRS 9 expertise with foreign-exchange exposure analysis, treasury systems, controls, settlements and reporting. Working across Treasury, Finance and the wider business, you will own recurring processes and independently challenge whether hedge designations, system configurations and accounting outcomes remain appropriate.

Through strong controls, constructive collaboration and continuous improvement, you will contribute to effective financial risk management and reliable decision-making across the organisation.

What you will deliver (Key Deliverables & Responsibilities):

  • Deliver complete and accurate IFRS 9 hedge designations and documentation for FX and commodity hedges, supported by appropriate exposure data, risk-management objectives and evidence.
  • Monitor hedge effectiveness and derivative accounting through the full lifecycle, including valuation, OCI, hedge reserves, P&L ineffectiveness, settlement, recycling, rebalancing and discontinuation; investigate and resolve exceptions promptly.
  • Prepare hub-entity Net Open Position analysis by currency, reconcile balance-sheet exposures to hedges and cash forecasts, identify root causes using AP and AR data, and provide clear additional hedging recommendations to Front Office where required.
  • Deliver accurate month-end valuation, journals, reconciliations and reporting across the TMS, ERP, group reporting and reconciliation tools, with clear explanations of material valuation, OCI and P&L movements.
  • Maintain effective middle and back office controls covering confirmations, settlements, payment controls, bank administration, mandates, KYC, static data and front-to-back completeness; investigate failed payments, unmatched confirmations and control exceptions.
  • Partner with Front Office, Accounting, Group Reporting, business stakeholders, banks, auditors and technology providers to resolve issues, support audit evidence, improve systems and automation, strengthen documentation and reduce key-person dependency.

Experience & Qualification Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on IFRS 9 hedge accounting experience, including designation, effectiveness assessment, OCI and P&L ineffectiveness.
  • Practical derivative accounting experience involving FX forwards, FX swaps and commodity derivatives; ability to explain the accounting lifecycle from designation through settlement, recycling, rebalancing or discontinuation.
  • Experience dealing directly with auditors on hedge accounting, valuation and supporting evidence.
  • Experience using a Treasury Management System for valuation, accounting, reporting or settlement.
  • Experience analysing foreign-currency balance-sheet exposures and cash forecasts, including investigation of AP and AR balances.
  • Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical judgement and a disciplined control mindset.
  • Clear communication, constructive challenge and demonstrated ability to collaborate across Treasury, Finance and the wider business.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous:

  • An accounting or treasury qualification, or active study towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ACT.
  • Experience with IT2, SAP, HFM and BlackLine.
  • Experience with FX options, commodity swaps, energy hedging, VPPAs or renewable-energy contracts.
  • Experience within a multinational, multi-entity Treasury environment, including intercompany derivatives.
  • Experience supporting TMS implementations, upgrades, testing or process automation.
