GROUP DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Position Overview & Purpose:
The development of our people is a key pillar of our People Strategy and Employer Value Proposition (EVP).
Reporting to the Group Head of Talent & Development, the Group Development Manager: Corporate is responsible for leading the development of regional programmes and guides the implementation in market as relevant for Corporate Functions (they are Finance, HR, Digital, Corporate Affairs and some support for AEI Procurement). The Regional Development Manager: Corporate is also responsible for managing two Talent & Development Specialists.
The role requires close collaboration with subject matter experts, Functional leads as well as HRBPs to define the competencies and skills required by AEI’s Corporate Functions. Drawing on insights from Strategic Workforce Planning, Learning Needs Analyses and external best practice, this role is responsible for establishing the strategy, curricula and content that will develop the competencies required by different grades, personas, and levels of expertise requirements (fundamental, Intermediate, advanced).
What you will deliver (Key Deliverables & Responsibilities):
Curricula strategy, design, and delivery
- Curricula strategy - Sets strategy for curriculum development for corporate functions and AEI-wide Learning initiatives (e.g., PRGM).
- Curriculum design – Establishes the competencies required at each grade and level of expertise (though the design of competency frameworks). Utilises outputs from Learning Needs Analysis (LNAs), Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP), best practice standards and discussions with SMEs to develop curriculum frameworks, including academies, that capture development needs.
- Curriculum development – Leads the development of the AEI-curricula, auditing what content currently exists, curating and integrating learning solutions from across AEI as appropriate. Each function will require a bespoke approach, that is, determining that should be designed and delivered above market and what should be local or in market.
- The Curriculum (or academy) should offer employees clear pathways for growth, skill enhancement, and advancement for Corporate Functions (integrates competencies, career paths and development experiences).
- Supplier management – identification, onboarding, and management of best in class learning suppliers engaged with the design and delivery of learning curricula.
- Curriculum delivery – Oversees the delivery and implementation of learning solutions within the curricula, ensuring relevant requirements and milestones are achieved.
Curriculum Impact measurement and improvement
-Evaluation – tracks and monitors the effectiveness and return on investment of curricula
-Maintenance - Oversee regular audits of curricula, ensuring curricula remain up to date with the latest developments.
- Project and budget management - Ensures that agreed design and delivery milestones are achieved in line with budget and resourcing plans.
- Reporting - Communicates milestones, progress, issues, and status regularly to stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement – identifies opportunities for continuous improvement to refresh and refine content according to the latest research and/or development needs.
- Perform any other job relevant job responsibilities as required to successfully perform the role.
Experience & Qualification Requirements:
• Degree-level education (or equivalent) in subject area (e.g., HR, Organizational Psychology).
• 5 years’ relative work experience in a complex matrix and international environment (preferably FMCG/Blue Chip) delivering functional development.
• Proven broad experience and understanding gained in multiple disciplines in HR including Learning and Development and HR Business Partnering.
• Experience in both design and delivery/facilitation of leadership development programmes and experiences.
• Track record and ability to lead within complexity in a matrix environment and influence senior stakeholders.
• Advanced verbal & written proficiency in English. A second language is advantageous.
