Head of Finance – Manufacturing and Supply Chain

Business facing finance folk like you are often in positions where it feels like you’re translating for the UN. Being the go-between of two entities who won’t always be in the position to understand each other. Your purpose is to help clarify conversations and provide context behind the jargon to harmonise operations.

You’ll be the conduit between the Finance team and Manufacturing and Supply Chain. You can transform business targets into meaningful conversations and ensure actions help the whole business grow. On the flipside, you’ll bring your knowledge of Manufacturing & Supply Chain back into Finance, helping shape target setting and performance management.

This is what energises you. You’re someone who wants to be present in your functions. You understand that forming great working relationships with leaders across the business is what can drive a company forward and enable smart decision making. Ultimately it is what allows you to perform in your role rather than getting caught up in double checking everything and spending far too long on administrative tasks.

Providing that leadership is only half the balance though. The other half, the debit to your credit if you will, is your technical knowledge. In a Head of Finance role, you will find yourself providing this expertise to the functions you support, as well as your team. You’ll be keen to get involved with a wide variety of BAU activities and projects: from costings to capex, and reporting to risk.

You’re someone who is familiar with an industry akin to drinks, perhaps from wider FMCG. You’ve built up a good reputation working with Manufacturing or Supply Chain functions and can show how you’ve helped grow your previous companies through your involvement. You’ll be comfortable managing senior professionals who are well established Finance professionals in their own right, and you know how to lead and deliver through a high performing team.
