City:  Woking
Department:  Human Resources
Type of contract:  Permanent - Full-Time

L&D Business Partner

Being first in for any role is a difficult task. But it’s a challenge you look forward to taking on. Fancy talking about shaping local strategies and defining what good looks like to create a true learning-focused organisation?

This is a role for an L&D professional who believes development should feel purposeful, practical, and genuinely connected to business performance. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, wider HR, and the rest of the business to shape how people grow across the organisation. You’ll help build capability, strengthen leadership, and create an environment where learning is part of everyday work.

Taking ownership of our local L&D strategy means translating business priorities into meaningful development experiences. You’ll understand where the organisation is heading, identify capability gaps, and design programmes that prepare people for what comes next. From onboarding and mandatory learning through to leadership development and future skills, you’ll ensure learning is relevant, engaging, and aligned to both regional and global direction.

You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping them make smart decisions about capability investment and development priorities. You’ll work across functions to co-create solutions that genuinely improve performance rather than simply ticking a box. Alongside this, you’ll manage external learning partners, oversee the annual learning calendar, and ensure programmes are delivered smoothly and effectively.

Leadership development will also be a core focus, bringing regional programmes to life locally while also designing targeted initiatives where gaps exist. You’ll also play an important role in strengthening succession pipelines and supporting long-term talent growth.

This role also carries real ownership. You’ll manage the L&D budget, track programme impact, and use data to show how learning contributes to organisational success. Continuous improvement is expected, so you’ll regularly review what’s working, evolve programmes, and bring fresh thinking from outside the business.

We’re equally committed to building an inclusive, high-performing culture. You’ll help embed DEI into learning experiences, ensuring development supports not just performance, but sustainable ways of working. Bringing external insight and new ideas will be important as we continue to evolve.

You’ll be someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You’ll likely have experience operating in a matrix environment, ideally within FMCG. You’re comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, confident designing and delivering development solutions, and curious about how technology and data can improve learning outcomes.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively and building relationships across the business. You’ll bring credibility, energy, and sound judgement, along with a genuine belief that great organisations are built by continually developing their people.

If you’re looking for a role where you can shape learning strategy while staying close to the real challenges of the business, we’d love to hear from you.
