Purpose of the role:

Credit Manager is responsible for leading credit control and accounts receivables to ensure the smooth daily operation of the business for the specific market.

Manage a team that works across the order to cash process from a finance perspective.

Contribute to mitigate financial risks, collecting receivables and minimize overdue compiling Credit Management processes and procedures.

The Credit Manager is expected to manage escalation of customers or supplier issues and their teams to ensure they are performing activities in line with credit policy.

Collaborate with the Regional Process Owner of OTC to implement harmonized processes from the local market and across the region.

 

The objective of the role:

Customer account creation & credit limits:

  • Oversee customer creation and compliance with the policy.

Invoicing & billing:

  • Oversee execution of the billing and invoicing process and make sure it is according to the agreed processes and guidelines.

Cash application:

  • Oversee the total unapplied cash amount and formulate next steps in reducing that on a regular basis.

Collections:

  • Work with the market to identify opportunities to reduce collection amounts to through process improvements.
  • Participate in best practice sharing with managers from other markets.
  • Ensure that all overdue invoices follow defined customer dunning procedure.
  • Make sure that any payment plans are in line with the agreed approval matrix with in market finance team.
  • Work with market to review risk profiles during macroeconomic events or customer specific event and take any necessary mitigating actions.

Order Management:

  • Ensuring the process is being followed accurately and work with the market teams to ensure all blocks are dealt as per agreed protocol.

Audit, MEC and controls:

  • Oversee credit month-end activities.
  • Establish and enforce procedures related to the accounts receivable process, such as segregation of duties, approval processes, and documentation standards.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

CI and Process Improvement:

  • Responsible for continuously assessing and improving the credit process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the process leveraging automation and technology solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.

Stakeholder management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and auditors.
  • Effectively communicate credit policies, resolve disputes, and address inquiries from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Leads and manages a larger team of credit analysts and specialists and their team leads, providing guidance, training, and support to team members, setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and handling any personnel issues that may arise, fostering a high-performance culture.

SLA:

  • Ensure Credit SLA metrics and other performance indicators are met for the specific markets, design and implement areas of improvement to bring the metrics to the desired level.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or other area.
  • Finance certification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA)/equivalent local professional qualification is advantageous.
  • 5 years of experience in working as a manager of Credit or Accounts Receivable in a large FMCG company.
  • Good understanding of credit processes within each European market is a distinct advantage.
  • 5 years of experience working in a finance Shared Service, leading the OTC.
  • English and Romanian language on business professional level.
  • Advanced IT/excel skills, prior SAP or equivalent is an advantage.

ABS encompass a broad range of financial activities designed to support businesses in their day-to-day financial operations, long-term planning, and compliance with regulations. These services are crucial for maintaining financial health, making informed decisions, and achieving the overall financial objectives of the organization.  The key outputs of ABS are to provide accounting services including the summarizing and reporting of financial transactions of a business, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.  ABS is also responsible to adhere to multi-jurisdiction financial regulations and reporting requirements, including ensuring compliance with these regulations and ensure accurate and timely reporting to relevant authorities. In addition to this, ABS is to use effectively use financial software and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data security.
