Role Overview:
As Head of Trade Marketing, you will define and lead Ursus’s Trade Marketing strategy across channels, driving commercial excellence and alignment between Marketing, Sales, and external partners. This executive role focuses on leveraging consumer and shopper insights to build competitive advantage, optimize trade investments, and drive value creation across the full commercial value chain. You will inspire a high-performing team, shape long-term channel strategies, and lead transformational projects in one of the most dynamic categories within FMCG.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Set the vision and strategy for Trade Marketing, aligned with overall commercial and brand objectives
- Define channel roles and long-term strategies, ensuring portfolio coherence across routes to market
- Drive segmentation-led strategy across customer and channel dimensions
Business Value Creation
- Optimize trade investment and ROI across channels, balancing strategic priorities and profitability
- Identify profit pools, high-revenue occasions and drive category growth initiatives
- Build and approve annual channel plans in coordination with cross-functional stakeholders
Insight & Innovation
- Lead the insight-to-execution agenda across shopper, customer, and channel dynamics
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous learning
- Champion innovation in channel strategy, activation, and execution models
Execution Excellence
- Oversee execution of consumer and trade activations, POS/POP strategy, and customer-specific TSPs
- Lead internal and external stakeholder alignment, including BTL/digital agencies and key accounts
- Establish performance tracking and evaluation frameworks for trade activities
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage a medium-to-large team coach and empower senior managers
- Build internal talent pipelines and ensure ongoing development aligned with business goals
- Instil a high-performance culture, grounded in Asahi values
Requirements (must have):
- Minimum 5 years in a permanent senior leadership role within Sales or Marketing, ideally in FMCG
- Proven experience (min. 6 months) in Trade Marketing, Sales, or Marketing function (even as temporary/assignment)
- Direct experience managing teams of 10+ people
- Strong track record in strategy development, portfolio/channel planning, and budget ownership
- Solid expertise in working with BTL and digital agencies, POS/POP strategy, and supplier management
- Fluent in English
- Proficient in business tools and commercial planning systems
Requirements (nice to have):
- Extensive network and visibility within FMCG and advertising industries
- Strong external stakeholder management, including agencies, suppliers, and industry associations
- Experience in working with international or matrix organizations
- Valid driving license (B category)
