Role Overview:
The Safety and Process Risk Manager plays a key technical role in supporting risk management within the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) function, while also maintaining safety responsibilities for Sales and Head Office (HO). This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and risk management standards, ensuring process risk assessments are conducted, and implementing best practices to mitigate process risks. The role involves close collaboration with the Health, Safety & Risk Manager to develop, maintain, and improve risk management frameworks, ensuring technical excellence in process safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Compliance and Governance
Ensure Legal/Regulatory requirements are identified, understood, assessed and communicated/proposed (planned) for implementation to the relevant functional managers
Implementation of health and safety rules, policies and procedures according to company standards and legal requirements
Ensure development and update of work instructions enforcing occupational safety and health rules, while accounting for particularities of the activities carried out by employees from Commercial and Head Office functions;
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and certifications of the company. Stay informed about health and safety regulations applicable to commercial and office settings
Conduct internal audits, inspections, and compliance assessments for risk identification and mitigation.
Ensure action plans are in place and mitigation actions implemented according to findings and reports
Regularly reports H&S and other required data to country, group functions, and local leadership using indicators and per country and AEI reporting standards
Risk management & assessment:
Support the Health, Safety & Risk Manager in implementing and maintaining risk management and business continuity frameworks in ISC
New standards and procedures from AEI communicated for implementation are understood and communicated/proposed for implementation
Ensures risk management processes are in place at the site level to identify potential hazards and risk mitigation measures are defined and followed up.
Follows up on risk management plans aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements for all ISC sites.
Coordinates gap analysis for various global and regional technical/process standards for ISC
Stay updated on evolving risk factors and propose proactive control measures.
Coordinates gap analysis and regular risk assessments in sales operations and office spaces
Recommend and implement measures to mitigate identified risks for sales and offices
Ensures implementation of Business Continuity Management process (Emergency Response Plan + Crisis Management + Business Recovery Plan), including communication and alignment with Health and Safety & Risk Manager and cooperation with insurance providers.
Ensures Risk registers are available and updated. Reports submitted as per requirements
Training and capability build:
Planning, organizing and conducting training programs for Commercial and Head Office functions (for all stages of training, frequency, specific for each position);
Developing and promoting the adoption of new safety training programs and practices, if needed;
Foster a culture of safety by promoting awareness and encouraging safe work practices
Implement risk management process training for ISC, Sales, and Head Office employees
Incident Investigation & Reporting
Maintaining and reporting on safety and health records and statistics according to local regulations and internal standards;
Reviewing internal and external health and safety reports to determine areas that need improvement;
Conducting investigations, serious incidents and accidents and writing reports for documenting findings and proposing corrective actions.
Lead technical investigations of process safety incidents, near misses, and operational failures.
Inspection and control
Coordinating the activities of the External H&S service provider for Commercial and Head Office function;
Identifying potentially hazardous situations and take proactive measures to correct them;
Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity
Develop and maintain emergency response plans for sales, office and sites.
Conduct drills to ensure employees are familiar with emergency procedures for sales, office
Develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans for all operational functions.
Oversee technical safety drills and simulation exercises for high-risk scenarios.
Ensure alignment of business continuity plans with risk mitigation strategies
Coordinating the implementation of H&S programs and standards
Working closely with the SHE Manager, Sales teams and office management to implement the H&S standards & and programs and related action plans and goals for the Commercial and Head Office functions;
Implementing and coordinating the H&S Programs (e.g. Behaviour-Based Safety), Policies and Procedures for these functions;
Monitor and take action to ensure compliance with company standards;
Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training sessions and incidents
Prepare and submit reports on safety performance
Requirements:
Higher education – University Degree (BA/MA) in Risk Management, Process Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related technical field.
Certification in Safety Internal Service Management (minimum 180-240 hours of safety training).
ISO 45001/OHSAS certification is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience in technical risk management, process safety, or industrial health & safety.
Proven expertise in technical risk assessment, process safety, and compliance frameworks.
Strong understanding of local and international safety regulations.
Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (written & spoken).
Valid B-category driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork.
