Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Packaging & Maintenance Manager to lead end-to-end operations in our Packaging area and ensure reliable, efficient, and safe production at the Buzău Brewery.
You’ll be responsible for keeping our lines running at top performance, maintaining equipment reliability, developing people capability, and delivering on key business targets — quality, cost, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

1. Optimize and manage production processes

  • Minimize losses and improve process efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and product specifications.
  • Drive problem solving and performance optimization.

2. Manage and support CAPEX projects

  • Plan, monitor, and control the CAPEX budget.
  • Allocate resources (people, equipment, materials) effectively.
  • Ensure project tracking, reporting, and post-project evaluation.
  • Communicate progress and align with key stakeholders.

3. Translate and implement company & department strategy

  • Support a learning and performance-driven culture.
  • Promote behaviors aligned with company values and reputation.

4. Lead and develop the team

  • Build team capability through coaching and performance management.
  • Ensure collaboration, engagement, and healthy working relations.

 

5. HACCP responsibilities

  • Actively participate in HACCP meetings and reviews.
  • Ensure changes impacting GMP/HACCP are discussed and controlled.
  • Support maintenance and compliance of food safety systems.

6. Safety, health, and risk management

  • Conduct safety audits and preventive actions.
  • Manage risks and ensure safe operations.

7. Change management (Asahi Way)

  • Lead implementation of the Asahi Way principles.
  • Drive structured change and continuous improvement across the department.

8. Continuous improvement

  • Use short-interval management and root-cause analysis to drive improvements.
  • Apply data-driven decision-making to eliminate losses.

9. Sustainability

  • Integrate sustainability goals (energy, waste, water) into operations.
  • Apply technical knowledge to support the brewery’s SD strategy.

10. Strategic maintenance planning

  • Develop and execute maintenance strategy in line with MTCE standards.
  • Monitor KPIs and optimize resource and spare parts management.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.

 

Requirements (Must Have)

  • Technical university degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related).
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, ideally in the beverage industry.
  • Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Solid background in packaging technology and equipment maintenance.
  • Experience managing budgets, projects, and performance KPIs (OEE, cost, waste).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in Romanian and English.
