Role Overview:

The Manufacturing Finance Analyst is responsible for collecting, classifying, processing and reporting information to the Technical Department. Support and assist them in their planning and control activities, part of the decision-making process (budgeting and forecasts), financial performance reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually). Key role in providing decision support to the Brewery Director.

 

Responsibilities:

Reporting

  • Lead consolidation and reporting to provide accurate and useful information to external and internal stakeholders  
  • Financial software is used to provide the business with decision useful information  
  • Monthly reporting of Brewery’ results to Headquarter (HQ) according to the requirements (Flash reporting) including (Usage results, volume performance, KPIs performance);
  • All variances or deviations from plan are identified and investigated to ensure all financial data is valid - prepare monthly explanations for variances of operating expenses to budget and forecast including qualitative insights for the brewery results by reviewing the monthly performance with the brewery managers (brewing/packaging/utilities managers);
  • Monthly variance analyses is performed to identify and control business risks
  • Ensure accurate booking and monitoring of all operating expenses (including fixed costs, other expenses – write offs, by product income);
  • Accurate split and reporting of utilities - Splitting of variance between price and usage for energy/water/thermal;
  • Ensure monthly costs are reviewed and any deviations are escalated – proper monitoring of accruals and commitments by each brewery;
  • Detailed production cost variance analysis by raw material type with insightful commentaries and linked with non-financial KPI information to identify cause and effect;
  • Actively challenge any unusual variances for the production orders during the month and escalation of any unsolved orders closing prior to month end closing to DPRs and Manufacturing Finance BP;
  • Responsible for Annually Standard Budgets maintenance in SAP (update of Bill of Materials for the Brewery SKUs and indirect planning in SAP);
  • Timely processing of Production Orders closing in SAP according to the Month End Closing Plan and agreed timetable);
  • Balance sheet accounts maintained, and reconciliations reviewed and followed up to ensure are erroneous data is excluded
  • Responsible for month end closing of any open orders (WIP Orders) and reconciliation with Balance Sheet;

Budgeting and forecasting

  • Supervise routine financial processes to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Optimize current financial processes
  • Prepare and communicate the OpCo budgeting and planning processes to the brewery managers (annually standard budgets);
  • Responsible for accurate computation of Variable Brewery KPIs – prepare the templates for standard budgets, update with the prices and latest changes in the recipes
  • Responsible for quarterly revision of the Standard Costs (input to Planning and Reporting for usage variance budgeting);
  • Prepare and communicate clear timelines and guidelines for Fixed cost annual budget process (templates in place and updated according to the latest legal and company requirements) – eg: review the Payroll templates with the latest updates;
  • Consolidation and analysis of Fixed costs for the brewery (all the departments, including the brewery warehouse);
  • Maintain and support responsibility for processes and controls over Capex.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum: Undergraduate Finance University, 3-5 years’ post-qualifying,
  • Experience in standard costing, capex management and preparation of business cases (3 years)
  • CIMA preferred
  • Experience in beer, beverage or FMCG industry
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written),
  • Proficient with Microsoft office software with advanced excel skills
