Role overview:
As a Utilities & Environment Technologist, you will play a critical role in optimizing and overseeing water treatment and wastewater processes, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations and internal standards. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain a safe, sustainable, and efficient operation. Your mission includes driving continuous improvement, managing utilities-related costs, and supporting our environmental management system.
Responsabilities:
- Monitor and optimize water, wastewater, and utility-related processes.
- Record and analyze consumption of water, energy, chemicals, and materials.
- Ensure accurate calibration and emergency-readiness of equipment.
- Propose and implement environmental protection and improvement programs.
- Monitor compliance with environmental standards and report to authorities as needed.
- Evaluate and manage the performance of water treatment facilities and propose long-term solutions.
- Ensure proper maintenance, preventive or corrective, of equipment under your responsibility.
- Support and initiate problem-solving processes; escalate where necessary.
- Provide reports and insights to internal stakeholders and environmental authorities.
- Train and coach water treatment operators and boiler personnel.
- Participate in environmental audits, 5S practices, and improvement initiatives in line with Asahi Way standards.
Requirements (Must Have)
- University degree in a technical field (e.g., Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Engineering).
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Intermediate English (written and spoken).
- Basic knowledge of SAP.
- Familiarity with occupational safety and environmental protection regulations.
- Medium-level skills in defect analysis and problem-solving.
- Experience with mentoring/coaching team members.
