TAX SPECIALIST ENVIRONMENT

Role Overview 

As a Tax Specialist – Environment, you will play a key role in supporting the Senior Tax Consultant in managing tax value and mitigating tax risk within a defined market. You will be responsible for preparing tax returns and reports for assigned taxes in line with management requirements, while ensuring compliance with local statutory obligations. Additionally, you will provide accurate and timely information to support both internal and external audits, collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen tax governance and contribute to effective risk management. 

Responsibilities 

• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements relating to environmental tax. 

• Contribute to effective tax risk management through robust processes and procedures. 

• Assess eligibility of costs for tax purposes. 

• Prepare information for tax returns and ensure proper documentation. 

• Support preparation of information to justify tax positions in audits or inspections by tax/customs authorities. 

• Provide day-to-day support to the Senior Tax Consultant with analysis, advice, and recommendations. 

• Ensure correct tax treatment for new business transactions. 

• Archive tax documents in compliance with legal and internal policies. 

• Assist in internal and external audits of tax procedures and accounting. 

• Stay updated on tax law developments, filing practices, deadlines, and business-specific requirements. 

• Flag relevant changes in the tax environment and support solution implementation. 

• Assist in preparing training sessions or workshops to share key tax knowledge across the business. 

• Contribute to business capability projects involving tax technologies. 

• Provide tax input for SAP and other business systems, including testing and implementing requirements. 

Requirements: 

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Tax, or Law (or equivalent qualification). 

• Basic knowledge of tax accounting. 

• 2-3 years of experience in Environmental Taxation, either in Industry or Profession (FMCG experience preferred). 

• Intermediate proficiency in English (written and spoken).
