Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Brewing Area Manager to lead and coordinate operations across the Silo, Brewhouse, Cellars, and Filtration areas of our brewery. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, cost efficiency, and operational excellence, while also managing a multidisciplinary team and driving continuous improvement projects aligned with our Asahi Way and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
You will report directly to the Brewing Manager and collaborate closely with national and local stakeholders to ensure high performance in all brewing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day brewing operations to meet volume, quality, and efficiency targets
- Develop and manage the annual production budget and capital investment plans
- Monitor KPI performance (e.g., brewing efficiency, extract loss, energy/water use) and implement corrective actions
- Ensure full compliance with SHE, ISO, FSSC, and food safety regulations
- Drive implementation of WCM, AGPRM, and Asahi Way initiatives
- Coordinate problem-solving efforts and support focused improvement projects
- Apply asset care and maintenance best practices for plant reliability
- Coach, support, and evaluate the performance of Technologists and Team Leaders
- Ensure systemic improvements and sustainable development goals are met
- Promote a strong health & safety culture and drive incident prevention
- Maintain communication with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Requirements (must have):
- Technical University degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food production (preferably brewing)
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Strong PC literacy: MS Office, SAP, EMI
- Excellent knowledge of brewing processes, equipment, and quality standards
- Experience with process engineering, asset management, and ISO standards
- Proven leadership in managing teams and driving performance
- Strong planning, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Requirements (nice to have):
- Previous experience in implementing WCM, TPM, or Lean manufacturing programs
- Hands-on experience with brewing automation systems (e.g., Braumat, PCS7)
- Involvement in sustainability or carbon footprint reduction projects
- Familiarity with Asahi Group Risk Management systems (AGPRM)
- Exposure to multinational brewing or beverage environments
- Participation in cross-functional or regional improvement initiatives
