PUBLIC AFFAIRS LEAD
We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs professional who will lead our Public Affairs agenda across our cluster.
You'll build relationships with key external stakeholders, represent our business on important industry topics, and help us turn our commitments around responsible drinking and corporate responsibility into meaningful action.
How would you make an impact?
- Shape and drive our local Public Affairs strategy across key topics including alcohol policy, taxation, trade, and consumer affairs.
- Partner with colleagues across the business to define priorities, set clear objectives and key performance indicators, and coordinate Public Affairs activities and external engagement.
- Stay on top of legislative and regulatory developments, identifying potential risks and opportunities early and helping the business make informed decisions.
- Ensure teams across the organisation are prepared for upcoming regulatory changes by providing clear guidance on impacts, timelines, and required actions.
- Support and contribute to broader European advocacy priorities by bringing local market insights and helping shape strategic positions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, industry associations, and other key stakeholders, representing the company in relevant forums and discussions.
- Lead our local responsible drinking agenda, ensuring alignment with global priorities and tracking progress and impact.
- Act as an early warning point for emerging Public Affairs issues and work proactively with relevant stakeholders to address potential risks.
- Monitor the impact of Public Affairs activities and continuously refine the strategy to maximise business and societal impact.
- Provide strategic Public Affairs support and insights beyond the local agenda whenever needed, ensuring broader business priorities are supported.
What is essential for this position:
- Significant experience in Public Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, or a similar strategic external affairs role.
- Experience in developing and delivering Public Affairs strategies that drive business and societal impact.
- Strong understanding of consumer-related policy topics and experience navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- A proven ability to respond to regulatory and policy changes and to shape advocacy initiatives.
- Experience representing an organisation in industry associations, working groups, or external forums.
- Familiarity with public policy topics such as sustainability, taxation, health, and social responsibility.
- The ability to understand both local and international regulatory developments and translate them into relevant business insights and actions.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and collaborating effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
