Main Interfaces  

Reports to the National Director Retail Key Accounts, supports and has regular interaction with all functions, but primarily interacts with the  Supply Chain team and LCBO wholesale division.  

 

Key Purpose Statement 

International premium brands are built via high-quality, premium experiences.  Quality, premium execution of our brands in both retail and on-premise is therefore a key growth driver of our business in Ontario.  The Senior Retail Manager – Ontario is tasked with delivering long-term portfolio growth in the retail channel, influencing and monitoring the business towards the achievement of an aggressive portfolio growth agenda. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

In coordination and collaboration with the Director of Sales Retail, the Senior Retail Manager is responsible for identifying growth opportunities in all channels for the Asahi brands portfolio and delivering the revenue target set in the annual plan. 

  • Forecasting & budget Management 

  • Own the annual revenue plan and the risks and opportunities on a monthly basis 

  • Work closely with the Asahi Canada Supply team to ensure adequate stock on hand and import timelines are met 

  • Monitor and report phasing in shipment plans and identify potential challenges in a timely manner  

 

  • Retail Customer Development Support 

  • Manage 3 RKA in Ontario Retail and be a presence in the Ontario market 

  • Establish sales objectives/forecasting (monthly) and develop collective sales strategies   

  • Establish performance goals for each retail channel 

  • Launch and track Key Account Programming budgets 

 

  • Champion Innovation / New SKU‘s 

  • Forecast, plan and flawless execution of new product launches in the Ontario retail market 

  • Manage and own new product in market timeline and key innovation dates  

 

  • Reporting and analytics 

  • Monitor the impact of in-market activities by channel & investments (ROI) and convert to shipments  

  • Leverage all channel data to identify growth opportunities  and manage the monthly revenue targets 

  • Contribute to monthly reporting cycle as required 

  • Report on key KPIs alinged to with the LCBO  

 

Desired Experience 

  • University graduate, preferably in a related field.   

  • Multi-level sales experience within consumer packaged goods or beverage alcohol   

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Ontario sales with demonstrated experience of successfully influencing and interacting with sophisticated, mult-unit customers (chains & independents). 

  • Demonstrated experience in selling a premium portfolio of brands in Ontario 

  • Other functional experience an asset, most notably marketing and/or retail sales.

  • In-Field / Customer Facing / Partner Management - 20% of time 

  • Travel within Quebec, primarily in the GMA  

  • Based in Toronto (home office and Toronto office)
